My name is Sheila Comer and I am the owner of Pink Ribbon Bakery. I started this blog as a way to share all of my crazy little events/disasters/wins/mishaps/and whatever the hell else’s that have happened and may still happen in my crazy huge life. If at least one person reads this on a regular basis, and is completely on the same page as me, then that’s just dandy and totally worth it for me! Because God knows I don’t have time for this.
A little more about me. Yay me! I just turned 25 and I kind of work at the corporate office for 1-800-GOT-JUNK? where I have worked full time for just over 5 years. I say “kind of” because my hours are diminishing by the week to match the volume of cake orders coming in. I got married last June and my husband is rad. Sometimes I’m a bitch and he just remains amazing. I listen to rock and roll and I have a shitload of tattoos. I do not hide them and neither does my husband, so please do not be offended if you ever meet us. I have always been very artistic. I draw, paint, design, dance, sing, and now decorate cakes.
So, how did this cake madness begin? My dad decided to turn 50! I planned a big surprise birthday party for him just this past December and I wanted to make him a kick ass cake that resembled him and what he does. Because he buys and sells cars and tires, I decided to make him a Good Year tire cake. From there business started flying and here I am now making up to 20 cakes a week sometimes! Life is insane and I don’t really sleep much, but this is the most rewarding path I could have ever taken. I love my life and wouldn’t trade it for the world…. even though I feel like I could set my cakes on fire sometimes
I would not be able to do this without my core support system:
Kurt = Husband, Delivery Boy, Gopher, Dishwasher emptier and loader….. and so on
Matt = Best friend, Web Designer, Marketing Manager, Fondant cutter and roller…… and so on
Dad = Ear for listening when I have a mouthful of fire I need to spew, the occasional delivery boy when I’m losing my mind and shouldn’t be seen by another human being
Through this blog you will hear me laugh, cry, rage, and everything in between. I am going to use this as my outlet and I hope you find it entertaining.
My finger hurts… I keep accidentally cutting it.
